Tooth extraction
In cases where the damage to the tooth is so extensive that it cannot be saved by conservative methods, it is necessary to extract it. Surgical procedures are fast, safe and painless.
In most cases, tooth extraction is quite simple, but there are still cases where the teeth are too damaged and trapped in the bone. In these situations, we solve the problem with surgical extraction.
We always apply local anesthesia, so slight discomfort may be felt after the anesthesia wears off.
When is it necessary to extract a tooth?
Except when we have a broken or damaged tooth, we also extract the tooth in the following situations:
- Caries has destroyed most of the tooth and even the root of the tooth cannot be used
- Teeth with extensive crown damage
- Teeth with advanced periodontitis – wobbly teeth
- Teeth with fractured roots
- A large inflammatory process affecting part of the bone around the root of the tooth (granulomas and cysts)
- Teeth with weak possibilities of wearing a prosthetic replacement
- For orthodontic reasons (lack of space in the oral cavity)
- Wisdom teeth that cause problems due to their position

Tooth root extraction
The root is embedded in the bone of the tooth and represents its major part. Considering its function, it can be difficult to extract the root of the tooth when the crown of the tooth is broken. Since the root of the tooth can cause pain and the development of infection, it is necessary to act quickly to avoid unwanted complications.
During root extraction, an attempt is made to remove the root with pliers and levers used in dentistry, and if this is not possible, a surgical incision is made in the area of the mucous membrane of the jaw to reveal the bone surrounding the residual root. When enough bone around the root is removed, it becomes mobile and can be easily removed with pliers. After the extraction, the mucous membrane of the jaw is sutured with surgical thread.
Wisdom tooth extraction – alveotomy
Alveotomy or wisdom tooth extraction is one of the most common surgical procedures in the field of oral surgery. Alveotomy is necessary in cases where the wisdom tooth has not completely grown out, but has remained stuck under the gums. It is very possible that it will then have a negative effect on the other teeth.
Improper position of these teeth can cause various problems: pain, swelling, damage to other teeth, etc. When wisdom teeth start to cause problems and are not in the correct position, they need to be surgically removed. This type of procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is completely painless.
